Yokota-con

Early March, I was invited to be a judge for the cosplay contest at Yokota-con, a private event held at the Yokota US base near Tokyo, exclusively reserved for US military personnel and their families.

The event featured a variety of booths and stage shows, including some with famous guests such as Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress of Luffy.

Before the cosplay competition, the judges were presented on stage. I dressed up as Chainsaw Man, and with Sweedy as Makima, we put on a small performance.

Later, it was time for the cosplay competition with an impressive panel of judges, including  Billy, Sanya, Yui Kanan, Sweedy and myself.

I changed into a lighter version of Chainsaw Man cosplay to better see and judge the competition.

Despite being a private event, many cosplayers participated, and I was surprised by the high quality of their costumes, as many of them were handmade and incorporated a wide range of crafting techniques.. Additionally, many participants incorporated 3D printing, which is still relatively niche in Japanese cosplay events.
